Oklahoma Aquarium at the Tulsa Boat Show

I can recall going to the Tulsa Boat Sport & Travel Show as a kid with my family. Growing up, getting to go to the lake with my cousins provided some of the best memories. On these cold and windy days in Tulsa I often find myself daydreaming of sweet summer time. The Boat Show is a great way to provide that reality until summer arrives!

This will be the first year that my girls will get to experience the tradition of the Tulsa Boat Sport & Travel Show, so I am viewing the show differently this year. I predict that the girls will enjoy exploring the sea of boats at the show and getting into RV’s and pretending we are off on an adventure. This year, there is even a dedicated fun zone at the show!

The girls and I visit the OK Aquarium often. Last week alone we went twice. This year at the Boat Show there is an  Oklahoma Aquarium Fun Zone. This space is free with paid general admission to the boat show. This interactive area will have a yellow submarine. My girls have seen the photos and are so excited to go and take photos by the sub.  There will also will be a virtual reality station in the Fun Zone. Entertaining kids in the winter in Tulsa is not easy, so I am thrilled the OK Aquarium created this experience this year.

Kids will be able to ge their picture taken with this submarine at this year’s Tulsa Boat Show

At the show I also plan on learning more about all of the amazing places to visit in Oklahoma and surrounding areas. Now that the girls are almost five, their minds never stop. They are constantly asking when we can go explore something new. Carlton Landing has a booth, and I plan on learning more about all of their packages for families. Last year, I got to take a girls’ trip there. It was a blast. But I did have some Mom guilt because I knew Blythe and Reese would have soaked up that place. There are endless parks in Oklahoma that even I have never seen, and I am looking forward to mapping out some of our favorites.

Girls’ Trip to Carlton Landing

The space of an event this big still impacts me as an adult. To see this show through a child’s eyes is going to be a blast! Thanks to the boat show there are a few local promotions going on that will save you some money! First, kids 12 & under get into the show for free! Also, If you order Papa John’s Pizza you can use the code BOATSHOW and receive 30% off of your order, plus a discount coupon to the show show will be on your box top. And if you are traveling to Tulsa to attend the show or just want to have a fun staycation, Stoney Creek Hotel & Conference Center is offering special rates. When your booking your reservation just mention Tulsa Boat, Sport & Travel Show.

One night next week I plan on going with Steve and enjoying some kid-free time at the show. VIP Night is January 28, and Captain Lee from the Bravo show “Below Deck” will be there. I cannot deny that we both will be waiting in line to get a photo with him. Then I will be following Steve to enter to win an RV. The show is giving away an RV scavenger-hunt style. You have to get a stamp at each of these booths at the show: Corbin Cooper State Farm, Oklahoma Aquarium Fun Zone and Carlton Landing; then, turn your entry in at Dave’s Claremore RV to enter.

The Tulsa Boat Sport & Travel show starts next Monday, January 28, and runs through February 3.  January 28 is VIP Night at the show. There is also a list of discount locations on the website. For a full Tulsa Boat Show schedule, visit https://tulsaboatshow.com.
