DecoDrinks:

There is no denying my forever love of java. For the past few months I have been Instagram stalking DecoDrinks. DecoDrinks is a  modern-designed craft beverage shop. DecoDrinks specializes in Boba milk tea, matcha, chai, coffee and loose leaf teas. There are endless reasons why I am a super fan of this new local business.

First is the location. DecoDrinks is located at 51st and Yale across from Laforunte Park. I live in this area of town, and there are not many local options of places to grab coffee or tea with a friend. Another thing I adore about this place are the owners. The Coffey family owns this Tulsa treat! I have know Alex for over 30 years. And his amazing wife, Sara, is someone I hope to come into contact with more. She works in healthcare for children in Tulsa.  Alex used to live in China. When he was there he was exposed to the tea culture, so this shop allows him to mash up concepts from Asia, Latin America and the United States.

The selection of everything on the menu is so unique. As you all know, coffee is usually my main jam. But I have had the joy of trying a few of the different tea selections that are offered. Each have been so satisfying. Matcha is a huge trend. They use organic matcha from a company called Encha that sources directly from Japan. For loose leaf tea, the shop uses Paper & Tea out of Berlin; their packaging is award winning and they have some really special blends that Alex recommends. Also, they carry pastries from local favorite Great Harvest.

When you enter DecoDrinks the vibe is calming. It is also a very stunning modern design. If I can sneak out before a busy day and get a drink to start my day, well, it makes for one amazing day ahead. This is also a location where you can bring your family. The Coffey family has two children, and this spot is one where your children are welcome. They offer fresh-squeezed OJ, lemonade, chocolate milk and peanut butter and banana toast.

In the future they will have more fruit drinks on the menu. The goal is for everything to be all natural: nothing artificial. Do yourself a favor, make plans to go by DecoDrinks this week. I promise your taste buds will thank you. Now it is java time!
