Two is more than one.
I‘ve done it. I’ve accomplished the impossible. Both of my children are napping at the same time!
I haven’t posted a blog in some time. It seems like every time I get started someone wakes up, someone is hungry or I opt to attempt to sleep myself. So, here she is….
Miss Sydney Ann Rodgers, my beautiful, feisty little daughter who is 7 weeks old today. I could tell when I was pregnant she was going to be a force to reckon with and I was spot on!
I’ll be honest, I came into having baby number two a little cocky. Either my son was easy, or I had completely forgot how hard the newborn stage can be, but I’m here to tell you that the past 7 weeks have kicked my a**.
At the beginning, she was very jaundice. Her billy number got as high as 22 and she was under lights constantly. Since jaundice makes babies so sleepy, I thought I had a great sleeper on my hands. That was all a facade.
Since her jaundice went away, she has yet to sleep longer than three hours. I keep seeing friends of mine post on Facebook how their newborn “slept 6 hours” and I’ll admit I get close to defriending them (or atleast hiding their posts).
She’s not upset at all, she just wants to hang out with her Mom and watch “Late Night with Jimmy Kimmel” or “Way Too Early with Willie Geist.” We’ve had some pretty awesome staring contests the past couple of weeks. Mostly, she just wants to nurse or atleast camp out in that area. LIke her mother, she doesn’t like to be far away from her food source.
Anyways, I don’t want to sound all whiney because I do realize I am blessed beyond measure with two healthy, beautiful children; it’s just, JEEZ I’m tired and two is definitely more than one.
