TCCL’s 2026 Summer Reading Program features programs and activities for all ages

Join Tulsa City-County Library (TCCL) for the 2026 Summer Reading Program, “Unearth a Story,” the perfect summer tradition for readers of all ages. The annual program, ongoing from June 1-July 31, offers free events and great prizes.
Featuring live performances from local and national artists, participants will enjoy seeing entertaining and educational stories come to life at their favorite libraries and beyond.
The 2026 Summer Reading Program is made possible by these generous presenting sponsors: the Tulsa Library Trust, FC Tulsa, Oklahoma Department of Libraries, TulsaKids Magazine, Tulsa Drillers, Tulsa Oilers Football, Tulsa State Fair, Tulsa Zoo, Whataburger and Williams.
All ages can register for the Summer Reading Program starting Monday, June 1 in person at any TCCL location or the Bookmobile, or online through the TCCL SRP app. Registrants of the “Children” and “Littles” programs will receive coupons for one free Happy Meal at McDonald’s or one free children’s meal at Texas Roadhouse upon registering, while supplies last. Registrants of all ages will receive one free general admission ticket for the Tulsa Oilers Football game on Saturday, July 11, while supplies last. Quantities for registration coupons are limited.
Littles and Children
Participants in the “Littles” program (birth to pre-K) and “Children” program (kindergarten to fifth grade) can reach their goal by reading or listening to eight books by July 31 and will receive a commemorative medal and coupon book for free entertainment and food items. In addition, “Littles” and “Children” participants who complete the program by July 31 will be entered into prize drawings.
“Littles” participants who read 20 books in total by July 31 will earn a dinosaur plushie, and “Children” participants who read 20 books in total by July 31 will earn a set of glow-in-the-dark dinosaur stickers.
Teens and Tweens
Participants in the “Teen and Tween” program (sixth to 12th grade) can reach their goal by reading or listening to six books by July 31. By completing the program, they will receive a compass key chain, a coupon booklet for free entertainment and food items, and they will be entered into a prize drawing for items like an iPad, Nintendo Switch console, a laptop and more.
Ages 16+
Ages 16 and older can complete the “Adult” program by reading or listening to four books by July 31. Those who complete this program will earn a coupon booklet for free entertainment and food items and will be entered into a drawing for prizes like a Discovery Lab family membership, a $50 Glacier Chocolate gift card or a gift basket provided by Whataburger. Additional prizes will be awarded by the Tulsa Library Trust to four finishers at each of TCCL’s 24 branches and the Bookmobile.
Readers can begin submitting their completed reading logs on Monday, June 22 to receive their coupon booklet and prize.
