Save Money on Baby Wipes
The cost of purchasing baby wipes can really add up over the years of parenthood. In our usual frugal fashion we bring to you an inexpensive and EASY way to make your very own baby wipes. I made these for awhile with my first son because of his sensitivities to fragrance and other products, they were perfect.
DIY Baby Wipes
What you will need:
- Empty container with a lid (reuse any old wipes containers if you can)
- Roll of paper towels
- 1 1/2 Cups of water
- 2 Tablespoons of wash
- 1 Tablespoon baby oil
Instructions:
Cut paper towels in half with an electric knife or a super sharp knife. Place one section of cut towels into a bowl. Mix water, wash and oil in a cup. Pour mixture over cut towels soaking them as much as possible. Let sit 10 minutes or more then flip the towels upside down so the mixture soaks the other way. After about 10 minutes, you should be able to remove the middle cardboard center of the paper towels. You can then use them as you would normal baby wipes.
In the picture above, I cut the paper towels neatly and put them in a square Ziploc container. I’m going to wrap that in ribbon and attach the recipe to give as a gift at an upcoming shower. Talk about the gift that keeps on giving!
The typical cost for making 90 DIY baby wipes using the method above is only .34! Considering the average box of wipes (60 count) is $2.99, this is great savings.
