Discovery Lab: Parties for Curious Kids

A Discovery Lab party is the perfect party solution for your science-minded kid! And if your kid isn’t so scientifically inclined? Well, Discovery Lab still provides an exciting, indoor space for your young party guests to explore. Plus, a party coordinator will help with set-up and clean-up! Read on for more details:

TK: What does a party at Discovery Lab look like? What do parents need to provide?

DL: Invite up to 29 friends to run through the tape tunnels and play under Discovery Lab’s electric lime ceiling. Then, celebrate your birthday child in our party room, which will be set up for your guests with chalkboard tablecloths; you just bring the cake and snacks. Want to have more guests? Rent out the museum after-hours and host up to 200 guests with the museum all to yourself!

TK: What are the perks of having a birthday party at Discovery Lab?

DL: Your guests will enjoy one hour in our party space and unlimited play time in the museum. Discovery Lab makes it easy with a dedicated birthday party coordinator to help with set-up and clean-up. The birthday child will also receive a complimentary Discovery Lab T-shirt.

TK: How are the different parties priced?

DL: Our Birthday Bash costs $250 for members ($275 for non-members) and includes up to 30 guests in our birthday room for one hour and unlimited museum time.

Private Rentals of the museum after hours are priced at $500 for two hours or $750 for three hours. A private rental includes up to 200 guests and offers you the unique chance to have the museum all to yourself! Members receive 10 percent off the rental price.

TK: Will special activities be provided for party goers?

DL: Spend as much time as you want exploring our ever-changing line up of exhibits or creating something in the WorkShop. Currently, Discovery Lab’s Main Hall exhibit is Energy: Sparking Solutions. In this exhibit, guests explore our energy needs, resources, and solutions through play, challenging your child’s critical thinking and problem solving skills.

TK: How far in advance must reservations be made? And are reservations refundable?

DL: Reservations should be made at least a week in advance. There is a non-refundable deposit for the party, but deposits and payments are transferrable if you need to reschedule.
