Discovery Lab: Parties for Curious Kids
A Discovery Lab party is the perfect party solution for your science-minded kid! And if your kid isn’t so scientifically inclined? Well, Discovery Lab still provides an exciting, indoor space for your young party guests to explore. Plus, a party coordinator will help with set-up and clean-up! Read on for more details:
TK: What does a party at Discovery Lab look like? What do parents need to provide?
DL: Invite your friends and family to run through the tape tunnels and play under Discovery Lab’s electric lime ceiling, then celebrate your birthday child in one of our private party rooms. You just bring the decorations and birthday treat. Want to have even more guests? Rent out the museum after-hours and host up to 500 guests with the museum all to yourself!
TK: What are the perks of having a birthday party at Discovery Lab?
DL: Your guests will enjoy one hour in our party space and unlimited play time in the museum. Discovery Lab makes it easy with a dedicated birthday party coordinator to help with set-up and clean-up. The birthday child will also receive a complimentary Discovery Lab birthday T-shirt.
TK: How are the different parties priced?
DL: Our Party Package for 15 Guests costs $300, or $270 for members. Our Party Package for 25 Guests costs $450, or $405 for members.
TK: Will special activities be provided for party goers?
DL: All of our party guests can spend as much time as you want exploring our ever-changing line up of exhibits, creating something in the WorkShop, or experimenting in the Science Lab.
We also have the option to include our N’ice Cream Activity as an add-on to your party package! The birthday scientist will assist with an experiment that includes ice cream and super-cold, liquid nitrogen. A recipe that normally takes an hour, done in just seconds! Small cups of ice cream will be available for every guest to enjoy at the party. Add (N)ice Cream for $25 for 15 guests, and $40 for 25 guests.
TK: How far in advance must reservations be made? And are reservations refundable?
DL: Reservation requests should be submitted at least three weeks in advance. Party packages must be paid for up front, but payments are transferrable if you need to reschedule.
