15 FREE Thanksgiving Break Activities

Tulsa Public Schools students will be out of school from November 22-30, 2025. That’s NINE days! But don’t worry, there is plenty to do around town to keep the kiddos entertained. Here are more than 15 free activities happening in the Tulsa Metro during Thanksgiving Break, plus ten additional suggestions.

15+ Free Thanksgiving Break Activities in Tulsa and Beyond
1. Jenks Christmas Parade
- Nov. 22, 10 a.m.
- Jenks Main Street
A display of floats, local organizations, and community members celebrating the holiday season
2. Generations Celebrations: Here Be Dragons – All-Ages Dragon Party
- Nov. 22, 2-4 p.m.
- Jenks Library, 523 W. B St., Jenks
Drop in for a celebration of National Family Week with all-things dragon.
There will be several levels of crafts, book recommendations for dragon fans of all ages, trivia about dragons from ancient history to today and fun photo opportunities – so bring the whole family! Crafts available while supplies last.
3. Dickens on the Boulevard
- Nov. 21-22, 6-9 p.m.
- Downtown Claremore, The Lilac District
A FREE Victorian themed Christmas event in Downtown Claremore’s Lilac District. Live entertainment, costume contest, period themed dancing, carriage rides, photos with Santa and late-night shopping. Fun for the whole family!
4. USA BMX Grand Nationals
- Nov. 23-Dec. 1
- Expo Square, SageNet Center, 4145 E. 21st St.; Hardesty National BMX Stadium, 490 N. Lansing Ave.

5. Fall Foraging Foray
- Nov. 24-26, 12-1 p.m.
- Ray Harral Nature Center, 7101 S. 3rd St., Broken Arrow
Before there were grocery stores conveniently located in communities, people had to find natural sources of food by using the plants found in nature. Fall is a great time of year to harvest some of the most useful and delicious plants, including acorns. Join a Ray Harral naturalist on a walk to look for these and other edible plants of the forest. They will share tips, tricks and the history of collecting and using these plants.
The purpose of this event is to educate the community and enjoy the outdoors together, not forage.

6. Generations Celebrations: Family Board Game Day
- Nov. 24, 10 a.m.-5 p.m.
- Central Library, 400 Civic Center
Stop by Central Library to celebrate National Family Week with a selection of board games and simple crafts for the whole family. Sponsored by the Friends of the Tulsa City-County Libraries.
7. Generations Celebrations: An Art Experience With Philbrook Museum
- November 24, 4-5 p.m.
- Bronson Brookside Library, 4607 S. Madison Pl.
The whole family will enjoy this special art project with a guest from the Philbrook Museum of Art.
8. Generations Celebrations: Fascinator Fete – Family Tea Party
- Nov. 24, 4-5 p.m.
- South Broken Arrow Library, 3600 S. Chestnut Ave., BA
Don your best fascinator and join us for a family tea party to celebrate National Family Week! Bring your own fancy hat or use one of ours. Light refreshments are provided. For all ages.
9. Von Franken Family Food Run
- Nov. 27, 9 a.m.
- River West Festival Park, 2100 S. Jackson Ave.
Everyone is invited to the 9 a.m. start Thanksgiving Day for the untimed 3-ish mile run/walk (or choose your own distance!) at River West Festival Park.
The event supports the Salvation Army by collecting donations of nonperishable food items and/or toys for the Angel Tree.
Oklahoma Alliance for Animals also will be there to collect supplies for furry family members.
10. Rhema Lights
- Nov. 26, 6 p.m.; Nov. 27-Jan. 1, 5:30-11:30 p.m.
- Rhema Bible Church, 1025 W. Kenosha, BA
Rhema’s incredible Christmas light display is free to attend. Snacks are available on-site, and donations are accepted.
11. Lights On at Utica Square
- Nov. 27, 6:30 p.m.
- Utica Square, 21st and Utica
Celebrate the start of the holiday season and countdown to the illumination of 700,000 lights. While there, enjoy Christmas carols by some of Tulsa’s best musicians, stop by to take photos in the garden and take in the festivities, all hosted by Julie Chin.
12. Tiny Tulsa: Inclusive Play Program
- Saturdays in November, 9:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.
- Gathering Place, 2650 S. John Williams Way
ONEOK Boathouse will transform into a tiny version of Tulsa, featuring things like a farmer’s market, food truck, construction truck, post office, medical office, art studio, library, park, and more. This program is designed for Pre-K through 5th grade students and their families and features low lighting, soothing sounds, creative toys, art materials, and adaptive play elements in an inclusive environment, offering children with special needs a space to feel safe and play alongside others.

14. Castle Christmas
- Thanksgiving-New Year’s Eve, 5:30-10 p.m.
- Castle of Muskogee, 3400 W. Fern Mountain Rd., Muskogee
Drive through Castleton Village decked out in Christmas lights! The drive-through is free; however, donations are appreciated. Additional activities, such as train rides, concessions, etc., cost extra.
15. Lights On Owasso
- Nov. 29, 6-7:30 p.m.
- Redbud Festival Park, 109 N. Main St., Owasso
This dazzling night will include a 34′ tree lighting, as well as the illumination of the beautiful Redbud Festival Park. Other activities include photo sites, including with Santa and his elves; live reindeer; live performances; and more.
