3 Ways to Save Even MORE During Tax Free Weekend

Ok, folks, here’s the deal. Everyone loves Tax Free Weekend however, if you really think about it, we’re only talking about an 8% sale. I spoke to a local business owner once and she told me that when she holds 20% off sales, almost no one shows up but when she posts her Tax Free sale, the store is packed.

Doesn’t really make sense if you think about it. I’m not saying it’s not a good deal, I’m just saying, we have to make it better to even remotely be worth fighting the crowds over…of course, this is simply my opinion so take it or leave it.

In a valid attempt at making this 8% sale even better, here are some money saving tips to help you out:

1.     Strategize: Make a plan before you head out. Sometimes the rush from the crowd or excitement can lead to impulse buying. Be sure to write up a list of all the items you really need and stick to it.

2.     Use Coupons: Call the store directly, visit their website and/or facebook page and sign up for coupons if available. Many stores will still allow you to use their store coupons on top of the tax free sale.

3.     Shop Around Existing Sales: Be sure to get as much as you can that is already on sale. Of course, if your item never goes on sale then the 8% off thing is a pretty decent deal. The whole point is to combine the tax free deal with sales and coupons to make it even better.

Again, I’m not opposed to the Tax Free Sale but a real smart shopper can make that tax free deal even better with savvy shopping strategies!
