Tulsa Public Schools Hosting Free Special Education Screening Events
May 26, May 27, June 2, and June 4, 2026
Tulsa Public Schools’ Special Education Services team will host four free developmental screening events for families of three- and four-year-old children later this month and early next month at the district’s Enrollment Center. The screenings, which will take place May 26, May 27, June 2, and June 4, are for families who may have concerns about their child’s development, and are designed to help identify potential developmental delays or learning needs.
Special Education Services staff members will administer developmental screenings at the event and share results directly with families. Upon conclusion of the screening, families may receive one of three recommendations:
- Their child is meeting developmental milestones at an anticipated rate
- Their child is demonstrating mild concerns and should return for a re-screening in
six months - Their child is demonstrating significant concerns and a comprehensive evaluation
for special education services is recommended
Screenings are free and no appointment is necessary. Event dates and times are as follows:
- Tuesday, May 26: Noon to 4 p.m.
- Wednesday, May 27: 8 a.m. to noon
- Tuesday, June 2: Noon to 4 p.m.
- Thursday, June 4: 8 a.m. to noon
All events will take place at the Enrollment Center (2819 S. New Haven Ave., Tulsa, OK 74114).
Tulsa Public Schools believes all students should have equitable access to inclusive environments that provide high-quality educational opportunities. The district is committed to supporting students and families through early intervention resources and services to support each student’s academic, social, emotional, and behavioral needs.
