Free Events for Tulsa Families
Tulsa is full of things to do with your family. And some are made even sweeter because the price is right. While many events, such as movies in the park and concerts at Guthrie Green, are seasonal, there are a few that you can count on to last year round. Here are a few to put on your calendar into perpetuity.
First Fridays at the Tulsa Arts District (Every First Friday)
Head downtown to the Tulsa Arts District from 6-9 p.m. on the first Friday of every month to receive free admission at Tulsa Arts District museums and galleries, extended shopping hours and other family friendly programming. Learn more at thetulsaartsdistrict.org.
G.R.O.W. (Gather and Read on Wheels) at Gathering Place (Every Thursday, 9:30 a.m.-11:30 a.m.)
In partnership with Tulsa City County Library G.R.O.W. (Gather and Read on Wheels) Mobile Library offers visitors a chance to browse hundreds of books for all ages, read as a family, and even checkout books to take home using their library cards. GROW Saturdays kickoff with a themed story time and literacy tips from Early Learning Works, and afterwards the fun expands into literacy-based activities and crafts for all ages to enjoy.
Movie Nights at the Will Rogers Memorial Museum (Last Friday of the month, 6-9 p.m.)
Enjoy a family friendly movie on the last Friday of the month at the Will Rogers Memorial Museum. 2022 features include “Meet Me in St. Louis” and “The Wizard of Oz.”
Monthly Events at Oxley Nature Center
Oxley Nature Center offers a couple free monthly events for nature lovers. Saturday Morning Birding meets the first Saturday of the month, from 8-9:45 a.m. Explore the Flora meets on the fourth Saturday of the month, from 10:30 a.m.-12 p.m.
