Cover Kids Then and Now
Announcing our 2017 Cover Kids Contest and reminiscing about our first Cover Kid, Matthew Hancock.
Beginning this month, TulsaKids is celebrating 30 years of serving and supporting Tulsa-area families. In its infancy, TulsaKids was a newsprint tabloid with an illustrated cover. The magazine has grown up to be a full-fledged adult with plenty of pages, larger distribution, a slick look and a muscular web and social media presence. And did we mention lots and lots of awards?
Next month we’re holding our annual Cover Kid Photo Contest, sponsored by Hermann Orthodontics. If you want to enter your child, go to www.tulsakids.com.
This month, let’s take a look back at our first cover kid winner. We don’t know if being on our cover creates successful kids, but evidently, it doesn’t hurt!
The first TulsaKids Cover Photo Contest winner, Matthew Hancock, graduated in May from Bixby High School, where he was an honor student and active in National Honor Society, Interact, Technology Student Association, and SkillsUSA. In the fall, he will join his big brother Michael at the University of Tulsa where he plans to major in Electrical Engineering.
