Tulsa City-County Library’s Ruth G. Hardman Adult Literacy Service is accepting artist and performer applications for its fourth annual VERSES event on Saturday, Sept. 12 from 6-9 p.m. at Central Library, Fifth Street and Denver Avenue.

Applications are now open through July 31 for poets and spoken-word artists interested in reading at the VERSES event. The library’s literacy service also seeks artists to facilitate interactive activities, lead demonstrations or create site-specific installations.

Examples may include:

  • A collaborative poetry or art station.
  • A calligraphy or zine-making demo.
  • A sound, video or light-based installation.
  • A story-sharing or journaling activity.
  • Any hands-on experience tied to language or self-expression.

VERSES is a vibrant literacy and arts event benefiting the Ruth G. Hardman Adult Literacy Service. The goal of VERSES is to raise awareness on the need for adult literacy services, celebrate Tulsa’s diverse creative space and build connections between artists, their community and learners.

The artist application and details for VERSES can be found online at www.TulsaLibrary.org/VERSES.
