TulsaKids Brings Home 18 Awards
The Parenting Media Association recognizes parenting publication excellence at its annual awards ceremony.
As usual, I’m a little slow getting this out, but it’s never too late to show hard-working writers and photographers a little love and appreciation. TulsaKids would not have a magazine or a website without content, and, although I’m a little biased, our content is amazing. Apparently, the judges for the Parenting Media Association’s (PMA) annual awards, think so, too.
TulsaKids’ writers, photographers and bloggers were honored with a total of 18 wins at the annual Parenting Media Association banquet that concluded the annual PMA convention held in early March in St. Petersburg, Florida. I want to give a special shout-out to Tara Rittler, our web and social media editor, who won five awards. She’s kind of like the TulsaKids Olympian!
Some of you may have seen other parenting publications in cities such as Little Rock, Dallas, Nashville, Cincinnati, Portland, Austin, Los Angeles, New Orleans, San Francisco, Boston, New York City, Baltimore, Philadelphia, Chicago, Kansas City, Oklahoma City, Indianapolis, Seattle…there are parenting publications (including electronic media) across the U.S. I’m always proud of Tulsa’s showing at the awards ceremony.
The PMA, a non-profit representing the family media market since 1988, received 560 entries for 2017 magazines and digital products. Prof. Reuben Stern of the University of Missouri’s School of Journalism oversaw the judging.
