My Trip to the Myriad Gardens in OKC

I am constantly amazed at all of the amazing opportunities we have in Oklahoma, especially here in Tulsa to see wonderful things and have a lot of fun. And if you’re up for just a short drive, there are so many exciting places to explore in our wonderful state where the wind comes sweeping down the plain! As Fall Break approaches, I wanted to share with you a cool road trip option if you feel like taking the family for a getaway not too far from home!

Recently, my husband and I visited some friends in Oklahoma City and stayed downtown near the Myriad Botanical Gardens and Crystal Bridge Tropical Conservatory. I’d been to the Myriad Gardens before, but never the Crystal Bridge, so I was really excited to explore it. Even though we had plans that morning, I was eager to get up and see it before meeting up with our friends. My husband was very sweet to accommodate me when he could have taken the opportunity without kids to sleep in at the hotel!

My gardening heart was pretty much in heaven. There were waterfalls, beautiful flowers and so much more. We got some coffee and set out for a lovely morning stroll.

Below is just one of many art elements within the gardens, and nearby this piece, there were people setting up for a children’s activity. There are many different children’s programs, adult programs, and all kinds of family friendly events that take place year round.

The Crystal Bridge Tropical Conservatory is really breathtaking. The building itself is beautiful, and is surrounded by the beautiful landscaping of the gardens around it.

Once we set foot inside the Crystal Bridge, I was SO glad we got up early to go! Seriously, my nature loving heart was overflowing!

I love butterflies. There were many, but this guy was gracious enough to let me take his picture!

There are three levels to the conservatory, and there are stairs to climb to get to the upper levels. Marc was a good sport to model on the little built in bench that I thought was so cute!

Then there is a bridge you can walk across that covers the entire length of the conservatory and it’s pretty cool to look down over the top of everything!

There are several waterfalls throughout the conservatory that create little streams of running water. It’s magical.

This is not the most becoming picture of me, but still captures a lovely moment with my cute hubby under one of those waterfalls!

Once we finished exploring the tropical conservatory, we made our way through the rest of the gardens and back to our hotel. If you’re there when it’s warm outside, there is a splash pad for everyone to play in!

There are also two dining options! Park House is an upscale dining option lovely enough for date night, and Ice House is a casual, more family friendly option with good looking burgers.

Have you visited the Myriad Gardens or Crystal Bridge? What was your favorite part?

See you around town…and Oklahoma!
