SUMMERTIME! An art exhibition by and for kids at the Center for Creativity

Deadline to Sign Up: Monday, May 2 at 9 a.m., or until the exhibition is full.

Hey kids! What does summertime mean to you? If you could have one wish for this summer, what would it be? What would the ultimate summer vacation be like? The Center for Creativity at Tulsa Community College invites you to create a piece of art inspired by the theme “Summertime!” You can draw, paint, take a photo, or make a collage or a sculpture – as long as the work is no bigger than 12 inches square, you can submit it for this exhibition. The exhibition will be on display in conjunction with our “Recess!” workshop series – free, fun, movement-based workshops for people of all ages.

One artwork per kid, please. Artworks are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis as space permits, so don’t delay.

Deadline to Sign Up: Monday, May 2 at 9 a.m., or until the exhibition is full.

Exhibition Dates: Thursday, June 2 – Wednesday, July 27

This exhibition is just for kids up to age 18. An exhibition agreement/permission form must be signed by a parent or legal guardian prior to artwork drop-off. If your two-dimensional work is on anything other than paper (canvas, board, framed, etc), it must arrive ready to hang. (It must have a wire on the back for hanging.) Framing is NOT required – works on paper are great! And don’t forget the size limit – it must be 12” square or smaller.

Artwork must be dropped off at the Center for Creativity from May 23 – May 26 and picked up from August 1 – August 4 during these hours: Monday – Friday, 8:30 am – 4:30 pm. Artwork remaining at the Center for Creativity after August 4 at 4:30 pm will be disposed of.

Artwork is not insured against damage, theft, loss, or other acts, and TCC is released from any claim for any loss or damage to the artwork, however caused. Artwork will not be offered for sale.

The artwork must meet standards for art exhibited in a public space, with imagery appropriate for minors. Tulsa Community College reserves the right to reject individual artworks at the sole discretion of the Dean of the Center for Creativity.
