Impactful Women of the 918: Whittney Stauffer

Whittney Stauffer always knew she wanted a career working with people. After earning a finance degree and trying accounting and sales, she discovered wealth management—a field that combined her love for helping others with her interest in finance.

Today, as senior vice president at Trust Company of Oklahoma, Stauffer works with individuals, families and charitable organizations to help them plan for the future. From investing and retirement planning to estate and charitable giving, she enjoys building relationships and helping clients make financial decisions with confidence.

Throughout her career, Stauffer has been inspired by the generosity she’s witnessed firsthand.

“Watching people quietly take care of their families, support their communities and give to causes they care about is inspiring,” she says. “Thoughtful stewardship does make a difference.”

Stauffer says one of the greatest blessings of her career has been finding a workplace that has allowed her to grow as a leader while remaining an engaged mom.

Outside of work, Stauffer gives back through organizations including the National Charity League and The Pencil Box.

“I believe we all have a responsibility to make our communities better,” she says. “As my kids have grown, it’s become important to me that they see the value of giving back by volunteering alongside me.”

Q&A with Whittney Stauffer

Can you tell us about your career journey and what led you to a career in wealth management and trust services?

After graduating with a degree in finance, I wasn’t exactly sure what career path I wanted to pursue, but I knew I wanted to work with people. After a couple of stints in accounting and sales, I stumbled into wealth management. It has been the perfect fit, allowing me to combine my desire to help others with my interest in finance.

Can you describe your role at Trust Company of Oklahoma and what you enjoy most about helping your clients?

I work with individuals, families and charitable organizations to help them manage their finances and plan for the future. That includes everything from investing and retirement planning to estate and charitable planning. What I enjoy most is getting to know my clients, understanding what’s important to them and helping them make financial decisions with confidence.

What has been one of the most meaningful moments or accomplishments in your career?

It’s been incredibly meaningful to work for a company that values working parents and recognizes the importance of family. I’m grateful to have spent my kids’ elementary and middle school years at Trust Company, where I’ve been supported in advancing my career and being an engaged mom.

Throughout your career, you’ve worked closely with individuals, families and charitable organizations. What have those experiences taught you about generosity, stewardship and building strong communities?

I’ve been fortunate to see a lot of generosity over the years. Watching people quietly take care of their families, support their communities and give to causes they care about is inspiring. It reminds me that there are so many good people and charitable organizations out there doing wonderful things, and that thoughtful stewardship does make a difference!

Giving back has clearly been an important part of your life through organizations like the National Charity League and The Pencil Box. Why is community involvement so important to you?

I love Oklahoma and am proud to call Tulsa home. I believe we all have a responsibility to make our communities better. As my kids have grown, it’s become important to me that they see the value of giving back by volunteering alongside me.

What advice would you give to young women who hope to build a successful career while making a positive impact in their communities?

Be present and don’t be afraid to raise your hand. Whether it’s at work or in your community, volunteer for opportunities and be willing to take on new challenges. You don’t have to know everything before you begin. Some of the most rewarding experiences and greatest opportunities come from simply being willing to step up when there’s a need.

Anything you would like to add about your family, hobbies or interests?

My kids will both be in high school this year, and I really just want to bottle up the time they have left at home. We love weekends at the lake and OU football games!
