Registration is now open for Science Museum Oklahoma’s largest annual free celebration of tinkering and hands-on fun, DiscoverFest, powered by OG&E. On Saturday, September 26, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., the museum and surrounding grounds will be filled with more than 65 additional hands-on STEAM activities designed to spark curiosity for guests of all ages.

Thanks to the generous support of community partners, museum admission and all activities are free for everyone on this exciting day. Guests will be surrounded with interactive experiences ready to explore, all presented by local businesses, schools, museums, clubs, and community organizations, while also enjoying full access to Science Museum Oklahoma’s exhibits, including the world-class Love’s Planetarium. DiscoverFest activities conclude at 4 p.m., while the museum remains open until 6 p.m.

Guests can climb in, build, create, experiment, and explore through activities ranging from dismantling two vehicles to woodworking, robotics, live demonstrations, music making, engineering challenges, and much more. Each experience is designed to encourage hands-on learning while introducing the people, careers, and organizations shaping Oklahoma’s future.

“Everyone deserves the opportunity to experience the excitement of discovery and the joy of trying something new,” said Sherry Marshall, John E. Kirkpatrick President and CEO of Science Museum Oklahoma. “This day is the chance to push out of comfort zones, take some risks and find new passions. We know a single day of exploration can spark interests that influence how children learn, the questions they ask, and even the careers they imagine for themselves. When families have access to engaging science, curiosity grows into confidence. DiscoverFest helps make those opportunities available to everyone.”

DiscoverFest is proudly presented by lead sponsor OG&E, with generous support from Boeing, the Philip Boyle Foundation, Carter Chevrolet, Norman Heat & Air, and many incredible community partners helping to ensure expanding access to STEAM education access across Oklahoma.

To ensure a smoother check-in on this popular day, the museum encourages families to pre-register for free tickets at www.sciencemuseumok.org/discoverfest.
