Where to Grab Boba in Tulsa

April 30 is National Bubble Tea Day, so I thought it would be fun to put together a list of places to buy boba tea in Tulsa. Here’s a brief history of Taiwanese Bubble Tea Culture: tealeaves.com/pages/bubble-tea-origins. I didn’t realize bubble tea was such a new drink, originating in the 1980s! Milk tea, of course, has been around longer.

Joss and I have been trying to visit boba shops around Tulsa over the past year. He first got excited about the drink when we went to Pinkeasy on Cherry Street in August 2022 (now Pinkitzel). Pinkitzel is not the most affordable place to buy boba. Plus, they’ve only offered regular tapioca pearls and popping tapioca pearls. Other boba places we’ve visited have a wider array of toppings, including milk foam, pudding, aloe jelly, etc. Joss still asks to go to Pinkitzel frequently, since we drive by it on the way home from school – but it’s a rare treat.

So here are some other boba places we’ve enjoyed, along with some we hope to try in the future.

1. Hey Boba

Located at 69th and Lewis, Hey Boba is a to-go-only boba shop. So you can’t hang out, but they do have a huge boba menu – along with some tasty treats and appetizers!

Sorry for not getting a better picture. This is our Pokémon Go buddy Haxorous waiting for our tea at Hey Boba. You can see part of the menu in the background, and some of the many lovely plants in the shop!

Since the menu is extensive, they helpfully walk you through the “4 Simple Steps” to ordering boba. Start by choosing what kind of beverage you want (tea, milk tea, etc.); choose your flavors (mango, lavender, melon, etc.); choose your toppings; and finally, your level of sweetness. They also have a handy list of fan favorites, so you can always choose one of those if you get overwhelmed.

2. Boba Go Tulsa

I was so sad to learn that Kaido Boba was closing because we loved this place. The menu was hand-drawn and creative, and there were a lot of games and art supplies. Plus a wall of (mostly) boba-themed art that had been created by customers. It was so fun! But a new boba concept, Boba Go, moved into the space. We haven’t made it in for a visit yet, but hope to soon!

3. Lucky Tea Boba House

I first wrote about Lucky Tea Boba House when we visited over Spring Break last year. Actually, this may have been our first boba adventure outside of Pinkeasy. We’ve been back twice since then. It’s located out in Broken Arrow near 81st and Garnett, so it’s just a little far for more regular visits. But they host fun events sometimes, like the Lion Dance they held for Chinese New Year! Follow them on Instagram to find out what’s coming up.

Lucky Tea Boba House has a great menu, along with some treats like mochi donuts and bubble waffles. And in late 2024, they opened a second location in Owasso (8509 N 129th E Ave, Owasso)!

4. LacaBoba

For Owasso residents, LacaBoba is the place to go! Or if you just are spending a fun day in Owasso. LacaBoba is a cozy place to hang out, and they have a fun “wings” photo op mural, too. Try a seasonal drink special – and if you’ve never had one, a nutella taiyaki!

5. Cha Bubble Tea

Cha Bubble Tea is located near Woodland Hills, at 71st and Memorial. It’s also next to Kazama Ramen Bar, so when we visited, we grabbed boba, played a card game, then swung by Kazama for lunch. I tried jasmine milk tea topped with milk foam and Oreo…which was a very rich combination! So delicious though.

Again, the menu does a nice job of walking you through how to order. Apparently, we visited around the holidays!

6. Kung Fu Tea

Kung Fu Tea has locations all over the U.S. – and internationally, too. The Tulsa location is at Kingspointe Village near 61st and Yale. Because it’s more of a chain, I admit I didn’t necessarily have high expectations. However, I ordered the Ginger Milk drink with pudding as a topping, and it’s one of my favorite milk drinks I’ve tried to-date. The ginger was very strong, with a bit of a kick, and I loved it!

And – I’m glad I read their “About Us” page. Because Kung Fu Tea is actually the business that founded National Bubble Tea Day, so it would have been a major oversight to leave that out 🙂 They were founded in New York and are now “America’s largest bubble tea brand with over 350+ locations across the U.S.”

Kung Fu Tea has an extensive menu. I needed a few minutes to take it all in, but once I saw the ginger drink, it was an easy decision. Here’s their online menu: kungfutea.com/products

I didn’t get a picture, but the drinks came in cute Princess Peach cups as well. And I heard they’ve had Kirby cups in the past. So I think they switch out their cups periodically to feature recognizable characters your kids probably know and love.

  • Tsaôcaa – located inside the Pan-Asia Supermarket at 71st and Mingo. Joss and I just went here for the first time, it was amazing. We didn’t try the boba, but they also sell fresh sushi, etc. We mostly stocked up on snacks and ramen.
