Tulsa Performing Arts Center Announces Auditions for 2026 Production of Rodgers & Hammerstein’s Oklahoma!

The Tulsa Performing Arts Center (TPAC) is proud to announce auditions for its next original production, Rodgers & Hammerstein’s Oklahoma!, running July 24–August 16, 2026, in the John H. Williams Theatre. Tickets will go on sale in spring 2026.
Directed by TPAC Chief Executive Officer Mark Frie, the production marks a meaningful full-circle moment for both Frie and the Tulsa PAC. Frie portrayed the role of Jud Fry for several years at Discoveryland in Sand Springs, the National Home of Oklahoma!, beginning in 1977, which is the same year the Tulsa Performing Arts Center first opened its doors.
“Oklahoma! is woven into the cultural fabric of our state, and it has deep ties to Tulsa’s own artistic history,” said Frie. “It’s an honor to bring this beloved classic to life in a way that celebrates both our heritage and our future.”
In tribute to Discoveryland’s legacy, TPAC will offer optional ticket add-ons that include a traditional Oklahoma BBQ meal and Berries and Cream prior to the performance. Audiences will also enjoy live pre-show entertainment featuring cast members and local musicians, creating a full evening experience rooted in Oklahoma tradition and community.
This landmark production will also be part of the official Route 66 Centennial celebrations, recognized statewide and nationwide.
The announcement follows TPAC’s critically acclaimed in-house productions of Ragtime and Fiddler on the Roof, which received praise for their artistic excellence and strong community engagement. The 2026 staging of Oklahoma! continues TPAC’s commitment to producing Broadway-caliber work while fostering local talent and honoring regional history.
Auditions will be held in Tulsa and Oklahoma City and will be scheduled in one-hour time blocks. Each audition day will also include designated dance and movement calls. More audition information and signups can be found at tulsapac.com/tpac-produces
Video submissions will be accepted only for performers who are unable to attend either the Tulsa or Oklahoma City auditions in person. Deadline to submit a video: End of Day, February 2, 2026
