Oklahoma State Charter School Board Grants Authorization to Tempo Montessori

At its January 12, 2026 meeting, the Oklahoma State Charter School Board voted to grant official charter authorization to Tempo Montessori, approving the launch of a new public Montessori charter school serving Tulsa families.

The board’s decision affirms Tempo Montessori’s mission to provide a high-quality, public Montessori education that emphasizes academic excellence, independence, and whole-child development through authentic Montessori practices. Tempo Montessori will be the only year-round public school available in the Tulsa area.

“We are deeply grateful for the board’s confidence in our vision, and for the support of families and community members who made this charter possible,” said the school’s founding executive director.

“This approval allows us to move forward in bringing a Montessori elementary and middle school option to the greater Tulsa – Broken Arrow community.”

Community members are invited to visit Tempo Montessori’s website (tempomontessori.com) to learn more about the school’s mission, educational model, and next steps.
