TPAC’s Imagination Series for Young Audiences Returns for 2026–27 Season
Season features a Frankenstein story before Halloween and a fresh take on a classic fairy tale in March
The Tulsa Performing Arts Center’s (TPAC) Imagination Series returns for the 2026–27 season with two productions — FRANKENSTEIN: A Living Comic Book and The Musicians of Bremen, LIVE! — designed for children and families.
Tickets are on sale for the one-hour performances in October and March in the John H. Williams Theatre.
TPAC’s Imagination Series introduces young audiences to live performance through spirited, interactive shows that make the arts approachable while encouraging curiosity and learning in areas ranging from performing arts, language arts, science, geography and more.
“Live theatre gives young people a chance to see ideas come to life in a way that is both entertaining and memorable,” said Mark Frie, CEO of the Tulsa Performing Arts Center Trust. “The Imagination Series gives children an opportunity to experience that firsthand while also connecting what they see on stage to learning that can continue in the classroom or at home.”

FRANKENSTEIN: A Living Comic Book
Oct. 22, 2026 | 9:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. | Recommended for ages 8+
This electrifying production uses comic book techniques to reanimate the classic science-fiction story. Young artist Mary discovers the journal of Dr. Frankenstein and is drawn into his uncanny experiments, leading her to consider what happens when people create monsters of their own making.
The Musicians of Bremen, LIVE!
March 10, 2027 | 9:30 a.m., 11:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. | Recommended for ages 5+
Inspired by the Brothers Grimm fairy tale The Musicians of Bremen, the production follows Ruffles, a hen with a powerful voice, and her new friends Mule, Bobcat and Coyote as they travel across the desert toward the big city with dreams of becoming a famous musical band.
Daytime performances are designed with school groups in mind, while the evening performance of The Musicians of Bremen, LIVE!provide an opportunity for families and friends to experience the series together.
Each Imagination Series production also includes a study guide designed to extend the experience beyond the theatre, giving students, teachers and families ways to explore the themes and ideas presented on stage before and after the performance.
