Encanto Movie Night

  • When: September 23, 7-9 p.m.
  • Where: Gathering Place, 2600 S. Riverside Dr.

It’s the final Cox Movie Night at Gathering Place for 2022! Bring a lawn chair or blanket and gather around the QuikTrip Great Lawn for a FREE, family-favorite film made possible by Cox.

An Encanto movie soundtrack sing-along, Columbian dancing, and other pre-show activities begin at 5:30 p.m., followed by the feature film at 7 p.m.

Festival Americas 2022

  • When: September 24, 2-8 p.m.
  • Where: Guthrie Green, 111 E. Reconciliation Way

This free multi-cultural festival will serve food from all over Tulsa and flavors from across Latin America. This year you can expect a free family-friendly event with live music, dance performances, food trucks, street market, and activities for all ages!

Graphic Novel Club: Miss Quinces by Kat Fajardo

Exchanging Horizons: Opening Exhibition and Reception

Celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month. Join the Hispanic Resource Center for a reception to launch the monthlong exhibition of Exchanging Horizons with Tulsa Artist Fellow Francheska Alcántara. View and hear the oral histories of diverse voices across Tulsa. This event is in conjunction with Ears to the Ground: An Ethnography of Material, Sound and Conversations, a multimedia project that seeks points of encounter and solidarity in Tulsa between Black and Latinx communities. Co-sponsored by TCCL’s African American Resource Center.

Cafecito, Libros y Chisme: Latina-Focused Book Club

Celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month as we read and discuss I Am Not Your Perfect Mexican Daughter by Erika L. Sánchez. Copies are available to check out at the Martin Regional Library or download as an e-book. The discussion will be led in English. For ages 16 and up.

Ears to the Ground: Story Sharing Workshop

Join us during Hispanic Heritage Month for a storytelling workshop with the Hispanic Resource Center and Tulsa Artist Fellow Francheska Alcántara. Visit and share with fellow community members on the power of owning our narratives and reclaiming our origin stories. This event is held in conjunction with Ears to the Ground: An Ethnography of Material, Sound and Conversations, a multimedia project that seeks points of encounter and solidarity in Tulsa between Black and Latinx communities.
