Soaring through the air with POSTOAK Canopy Tours
Wow! What an incredible fall break I had with my kids. I sure hope and pray that you did as well. My son Atticus came home from the Chickasaw Children’s Village for most of the week, and my daughter had fall break Thursday and Friday.
Today, I am going to fill you in on an incredible zip line experience that we had, and you can, too, because it’s just 10 minutes northwest of Downtown Tulsa. Many people don’t know it’s there!
Jelly Rolled Into Tulsa
My son, Atticus, came home from Chickasaw Children’s Village in Kingston, Oklahoma. The first part of the school year is the hardest for me because we have had a whole summer of fun activities and then all of a sudden, on August 8, he was gone. And wasn’t coming home till October 15. It’s the longest time all year without seeing him. It’s almost like a cruel joke.
Friday night at BOK Center was a very anticipated concert featuring Warren Zeiders and Jelly Roll. Jelly Roll is on top of the music world right night. It was a sold-out concert.
K95.5 Tulsa’s New Country Leader is one of the radio stations that I DJ for. We hosted a pre-party outside BOK Center. I couldn’t get a ticket to the concert, but we had fun meeting fans of K95.5 at the pre-party! Plus, our resident K95 artist, Jenny Law, gave me Jelly Roll face tats, and Atticus rode the mechanical bull!
Let’s Fly!
“Let’s go and see the stars
The Milky Way or even Mars
Where it could just be ours
Let’s fade into the sun
Let your spirit fly
Where we are one
Just for a little fun
Oh, oh, oh yeah
I want to get away
I want to fly away
Yeah, yeah, yeah” – Lenny Kravitz
If you’ve never been to POSTOAK Lodge, you must book a staycation! The first time I experienced this place was attending the Child Advocacy Network’s Superhero Challenge. I had no idea such a beautiful lodge was just minutes from downtown Tulsa in the beautiful rolling hills of the Osage Nation.
Thanks to Jeff Venture, Matt Jackson and their amazing staff, they allowed my podcast Tulsa Rocks and some winners to enjoy a night of pizza, beer, and bonfires!
And Bogue at POSTOAK Canopy Tours gave us all a zip-line experience we will never forget! They have seven ziplines, and it takes about 2 1/2 hours. We started while the sun was setting. It was so beautiful to see the sun setting over the trees of the Osage Reservation.
My 10-year-old daughter, Angel, was so brave!
By the time we were done, it was night. Zip-lining over the tree tops in the dark was creepy cool! During one zip, I could feel a tree branch reach up and tap my foot, 50 feet off the ground! Thanks, Nolan, Grey, Tamara, and all who defy gravity at POSTOAK Canopy Tours!
What a wonderful weekend with friends. I totally recommend it as a great stress reliever and team-building option! This is me with my Tulsa Rocks podcast cohost, Jill Munroe, and her husband, Kelly.
Bye, POSTOAK Lodge, see you at Christmas!
