Grand Opening of Tulsa Premium Outlets

On Thursday, August 15, Joss and I braved the heat to attend the grand opening of the new Tulsa Premium Outlets in Jenks! This project has been in the works for a long time. And, judging from the size of the opening day crowds, the community is eager to shop at this exciting new destination.

Shopping

I’ll have to report on this more in the future. Our time was limited, so we sadly didn’t get inside many stores. But there were long lines of people eager to shop at new options like the Nike Factory Store and Tony Burch. (See a layout of the mall here.)

The Polo Ralph Lauren Factory Store has a beautiful location right behind the large fountain in the main plaza.

Next to Ralph Lauren, shoppers will find Janie and Jack, which puts “modern twists on classic fashion for girls, boys, toddlers and babies” (premiumoutlets.com/outlet/tulsa/stores/janie-and-jack).

Of course, we were excited to find a toy/game store selling Rubik’s cubes. They even had 4×4 and 6×6 cubes and some cool ones I’d never seen before.

If you love trying out new makeup, in addition to an Ulta, Tulsa Premium Outlets has a Miss A store. We passed it, and it looked fun. And checking online, it’s described as “the ultimate beauty shopping experience where customers can #justhavefun while not breaking the bank.” Not breaking the bank is always a shopping priority, so I’ll look forward to checking this out.

Dining

Los Cabos Little Kitchen is the main dining locale at Tulsa Premium Outlets. Shoppers can find more snack-y options at Auntie Anne’s and Sugar Llamas. Joss was very disappointed that their boba place, Tea Bear, wasn’t open right at 10 a.m., so we couldn’t get him the boba I’d promised. It looked super cute though!

Several food trucks were also lined up outside the play area, but I don’t know if that will be a common feature or not.

For the Kids

Besides the toy stores, children’s clothing stores and kid-friendly dining options, Tulsa Premium Outlets has a large play area! There are built-in musical attractions at a good height for younger kids, and taller climbing structures for older kids.

Thankfully, there were covered areas and tables for adults to rest while the kids play.

My favorite part was the cute animals dotting the perimeter.

Right when you walk in, there’s a line of kid-friendly strollers as well, available for rent.

Joss enjoyed the mall and the play area, however, he is eager to come back in the fall when it’s cooler. I told him that if we’d been shopping, we would have at least been getting out of the heat more frequently!

You do have to walk outside quite a bit, but at least there’s shade and places to rest.

Parking

Not too much to say here, except there is several large parking lots. Which is good because they were definitely getting full on opening day! But you should certainly be able to find parking. And even though it was busy, busy, busy for the ribbon cutting, once everything was open, the crowds dispersed, and it didn’t seem too crowded.

All in all, I thought it was a really lovely facility. There were some nice green spaces, the walking paths were wide and, again, covered. There’s a huge fountain in the center, and the kid’s area was really fun!
