A Preview of Slick City Action Park – Tulsa

If you haven’t heard, Tulsa is getting a new Slick City Action Park soon – and Joss and I got to try it out early! Slick City is primarily a slide-based indoor attraction. However, there is also a climbing area for littles, trampoline basketball courts, and plenty of seating and concessions. Keep reading to learn more!

Slides

They’re the main attractions! And who knew there could be so many different kinds of slides? There are racing slides, a “wave” slide that lets you gently rock back and forth, slides that send you flying, etc.

All slides are for ages 4+. Visitors on the younger end may wish to avoid some of the more intense slides, though. Each slide is ridden on your stomach, facing forward, on a Slick City mat. The mats are covered in a special patented material designed to make the experience feel more like a water slide. At the end of each slide, a thick, cushion-y landing pad slows you down so no one has to worry about shooting off into the distance.

Note: The mats do make a pretty high-pitched, “zoom”-ing noise. It makes things sound really fast, and some more cautious kids may find that intimidating.

To keep things safe and moving along, a Slick City employee will be overseeing each slide. They’ll make sure guests are using the mats correctly, and will remind them to keep their elbows in, etc.

Toddler area

Ages 5 and under can enjoy the toddler area, since they can’t really ride the big slides. Here, they’ll find some fun climbing elements, riding toys, and some mini slides just for them!

Other things to do: Basketball, massage chairs

If you’re more into sports than slides, take to the basketball courts! The trampoline floors make it extra fun!

And for adults just watching their kids stay busy, there is lots of seating. But also some massage chairs, if you really need some relaxation time!

Concessions

Slick City has a well stocked concessions bar. I’m sure Joss will be excited to go back and get an Icee someday. I also spotted Dippin’ Dots, and you can get savory options as well, including pizza, hot dogs and chicken strips.

Tickets and rentals

As far as pricing, ages 3 and under can purchase a Junior Ticket for $13.99 – the cheapest option, since they can’t do the slides. For ages 4+, a 90-minute ticket is $25.99, and a 120-minute ticket is $30.99. In addition, you’ll need to wear a pair of Slick City socks. These are $4.99 a pair.
