Tulsa Zoo’s mission includes people. We strive to create a safe, welcoming and inclusive environment for all. The zoo is certified by KultureCity® as a Sensory Inclusive® location and participates in annual training. Additionally, we provide sensory bags filled with tools that can help reduce sensory overload.

Our Ascension St. John Family Den supports a variety of family needs through a private space for nursing mothers, a quiet room for families affected by autism or sensory processing disorders, a family restroom and a restroom with a universal (adult) changing table. Visitors can also rent mobility equipment, including electric scooters and wheelchairs, through guest services.

These efforts help us support a thriving local community and advance our mission in a way that celebrates the power of diverse people working collaboratively for the future of wildlife and wild places.
