Oklahoma Complete Health Awards $150,000 Grant to Expand HALO Tulsa Program

Oklahoma Complete Health has awarded $150,000 to Dayspring Community Services to support the expansion of HALO Tulsa, a program that provides trauma‑informed support to families caring for young children who have experienced difficult life events.
HALO Tulsa serves caregivers in a variety of family roles, including biological, kinship, foster and adoptive families. The program provides skill building sessions focused on empowerment and relational strategies, in addition to individual and family therapy services that support healing and long-term growth.
“At Oklahoma Complete Health, we know that when young children experience trauma, the impact is felt across the entire family,” said Oklahoma Complete Health President and CEO Clay Franklin. “By investing in programs like HALO Tulsa, we’re helping parents and caregivers access trauma-informed support to strengthen family connections, promote healing and give children the opportunity to thrive.”
Grant funding from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration allowed Dayspring to launch HALO Tulsa programming for parents and caregivers raising children ages 0 to 8 who have experienced trauma related to issues such as loss, divorce, mental health challenges, substance use or other adverse experiences. The funding from Oklahoma Complete Health will allow Dayspring to expand these services for families of older children, a need that has presented as more families in the Tulsa area have learned about the programming.
“We are so thankful that Oklahoma Complete Health has awarded us funding to expand our services, because we have seen how transformative HALO Tulsa can be for the families we’ve served,” said HALO Tulsa Director Casey Moody. “We’ve heard from caregivers who said these sessions have helped them develop communication and trust with their children, which are major steps for children who have experienced trauma. Being able to serve a wider age range of children thanks to this grant will help change more lives.”
The expanded program reflects a whole‑family approach to care, addressing the needs of both children and the caregivers who support them. HALO Tulsa programming is provided at no cost to families and is open to all caregivers seeking trauma‑informed support.
