Springtime Fun and Our Annual Easter Pictures
Poor Joss succumbed to a seasonal cold last week. I had to keep him home from school on Friday, but he was feeling much better the next day. Still congested, but with almost-normal levels of energy. So we went to Woodward Park for our annual Easter pictures.
Apparently, this is only a three-year tradition. I thought I’d been doing this longer! Anyway, thanks to my Nana for gifting Joss the perfect Easter suit. It was pretty baggy two years ago, fit perfectly last year, and is just slightly snug this year. So I thought it would be fun to share the progression:
I don’t know where he learned to pose, but I love it. Honestly, I’ve hardly thought about Easter this year. That’s probably not a surprise if you’ve been reading my blog for awhile. I think we’re just last-minute people! Or maybe it’s more to do with not having family in town, I don’t know.
Tulip Time
In addition to this being Easter weekend, it sounds like this may be the final weekend to enjoy the beautiful but brief-lived tulips around town. There were still lots of gorgeous flowers at Woodward Park last weekend. But Philbrook posted several times over the weekend that they were in #peaktulip time, so make sure to visit SOON if you want to see their blossoms. Plus, Tulsa Botanic Garden‘s Tulsa Botanic Blooms is officially over after Sunday, April 17.
If you’re looking for tulips, hit up any of those three places for the best tulip viewing in town. You can also check out Utica Square, as they always have beautiful floral landscaping at this time of year.
If you do go out hunting for tulips (or Easter eggs!) this weekend, be sure to enter TulsaKids’ Signs of Spring Photo Contest, sponsored by Tulsa Botanic Garden. You might even win a Family Membership to TBG!
Community Spring Fitness Classes
Another thing I love about spring is the return of outdoor fitness classes. We skipped them the past couple of years, but I’m thinking about doing a Monday evening Zumba class at Guthrie Green. Joss may be old enough to either participate or at least not wander too far….What do you think?

Do you know of any I should add to this list? Let me know in the comments!
