Insight School of Oklahoma (ISOK) — Oklahoma’s only alternative education virtual school — is a tuition-free public online charter school serving Oklahoma students in grades 6-12. The school’s mission is to help students who have struggled in traditional academic settings.

ISOK caters to students with substance abuse issues, who have been expelled from other schools, are teen parents and/or have special needs. Flexible schedules are available, and classes can be taken any time between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. All students receive a free laptop and hot spot, as well as food boxes with nonprofit donations as needed.

Each ISOK student is given an individualized learning plan. The school also offers a credit recovery program, allowing students to earn or make up credit on incomplete or failed courses; and concurrent enrollment so students can earn college or CareerTech credit while in high school.

ISOK has programs in place to help children with non-academic issues to ensure success. The school is trauma-informed and fully equipped to support students who have had adverse childhood experiences. Additionally, there is a Student Support team available, including a licensed social worker and other family support personnel to help students stay on track.
