Back to School Events in Tulsa and Beyond
Feria de Recursos para el Regreso a la Escuela | Back to School Community Resource Fair
- July 29, 9 a.m.-12 p.m.
- Expo Square – Central Park Hall, 1701 S. Sandusky Ave.
The Coalition of Hispanic Organizations (COHO) in collaboration with Tulsa Public Schools, Tulsa Area United Way, and Tulsa City-County Library are excited to announce that our FREE annual Back to School Resource Fair is back for its 7th year and in a new location!
This year’s event will be held at the Expo Square – Central Park Hall.
The 7th Annual Back to School Resource Fair will provide school-age children with FREE backpacks, school supplies, and an array of services and community resources.
Cuts for Kids
- August 1 and 2, 8:30 a.m.-8 p.m.
- Clary Sage College, 3131 S. Sheridan Rd.
Clary Sage Barber and Cosmetology students and faculty will provide free haircuts to school-aged kids. Walk-in only, no appointment necessary. La Cosecha Back to School Bash
- August 3, 9:30 a.m.-1 p.m.
- 10811 E. 41st St.
La Cosecha is hosting its annual Back to School Bash during their normal drive-through food distribution. They will be giving out 1,000+ backpacks full of school supplies and resources along with key resources in the community to get the children ready for the new school year.
Community Back to School Bash
- August 8, 5-7 p.m.
- OSU Tulsa Parking Lot C, 700 N. Greenwood ave.
Pre-K through 12th-grade students and their families can enjoy live performances by school bands, dance groups and other youth organizations. They will also be able to pick up free school supplies and learn about resources from local organizations to help students have a successful school year.
This event is free and open to the public.
NTEDi 19th Annual Back 2 School Event
- August 11, 3-6 p.m.

The North Economic Development Initiative will be holding its annual Back 2 School Event in August. Find updates on their website, ntedi.net

Back to School Bash

- Southminster Presbyterian Church, 3500 S. Peoria Ave.
Join Southminster Presbyterian Church for a Back to School Bash. They will have backpacks with school supplies for children attending, plus live music by Hot Toast Music Co. and food!
Back to School Bash

- Parent Resource Center Alcott Building, 525 E. 46th St. N.
Hosted by Tulsa Public Schools Parent Resource Center in partnership with BEST, Connect First, and Healthy Steps. Lunch and school supplies are provided. For TPS families with children ages 3-18. Students must be accompanied by an adult. Immunizations are available with an appointment.
TPS is hiring in departments including maintenance, child nutrition/cafeteria, and transportation, and attendees can learn more in person about open job opportunities.
Back to School at St. Paul AME Church

St. Paul AME Church’s Back to School event includes free school supplies, free haircuts/braid styles (must have pre-washed hair to receive style), music, food, a grill competition and other fun activities.
Back to School Bash

Join Christian Ministers Alliance and other community sponsors for a Back to School Bash. School Districts include Tulsa Public Schools, Union Public Schools, Sand Springs Public Schools, Owasso Public Schools and Broken Arrow Public Schools.

Back to School Block Party

Come hang out with Tulsa Parks before school starts! There will be resource vendors for parents, all-ages kid activities, food, school supplies and door prizes.
Back-to-School Fashion Show
- August 12, 2 p.m. (Registration begins at 1:30)
- Woodland Hills Mall, 7021 S. Memorial Dr. (Lower Level, Center Court)
Woodland Hills Mall invites shoppers on Saturday, August 12th to the annual Back-to-School Fashion Show! This exciting event will be hosted by Ryan Gillin with News on 6 and showcase the latest trends from 16 stylish retailers including Altar’d State, GAP, Dillard’s, Forever 21, and more.
Registration begins at 1:30 p.m. The first 100 customers to check in will receive a free Woodland Hills Mall Back to School lunch tote while supplies last.

Spreading Hope Back to School Bash

This is a free event for children and youth with unique needs, disabilities, and all families. Back packs, school supplies, health and education resources, food and family fun!
Free classes are also offered: Understanding IEP/504 with the Oklahoma Parents Center (11:30 a.m.-12 p.m.); Disability Rights with Disability Law (12-12:30 p.m.); Disability Services (12:30-1 p.m.).

Have questions about your child’s education? Get knowledge and resources to help your family succeed in school. Attend short panels on school success topics, visit booths with valuable resources and attend a Q&A with TPS Parent Advocacy Coordinator Latina Busby. Tulsa Public Schools Uniform Assistance
From the TPS Website: “Tulsa Public Schools works with local organizations to help provide those in need with items including clothes, school supplies, shoes, and even specially requested items. Please contact your school’s counselor for assistance with uniforms or supplies for the school year.”
Union Public Schools Clothing Closet
From the Union Public Schools Website: “The Caring Center (Clothing Closet) proudly serves Union Schools and families throughout the year. We are excited and eager to serve our community!

When Union Public Schools is in session
New & gently used clothes are also available to community members once a month through the Caring Center South, a ministry of First Baptist Tulsa. One form of identification for each person receiving clothing is required. Forms of ID accepted are: Social Security Card, Vaccine Record, Birth Certificate, Caring Center Card or picture ID. All information collected is for internal use only and will not be shared publicly.
The CenterCross Clothing Closet is open every weekday that the Union School District is in session, for the hours 9 -11 a.m. Volunteers, please show up no later than 8:30 a.m. and plan to finish up by noon.”
Sand Springs Community Services, Inc.
Families living in the Sand Springs school district who need assistance with food or clothing can visit sscsok.org for information about how Sand Springs Community Services serves families.
The Pencil Box
The Pencil Box, which provides a place for teachers from eligible schools to “shop” for free school supplies, is always accepting donations of school supplies, as well as monetary donations. Learn about how to donate here.
