  of 14-year-old Emmett Till\, a Chicago teenager who\, while visiting rela
 tives in Mississippi in August 1955\, was kidnapped\, tortured and murdere
 d by two white men who claimed they wanted to teach him a lesson for (alle
 gedly) whistling at a local white woman. The horror and brutality of this 
 crime were magnified when Emmett&rsquo\;s mother\, Mamie Till-Mobley\, inv
 ited the media to Emmett&#39\;s open-casket funeral so they could see for 
 themselves her son&#39\;s mutilated face. The shocking pictures were publi
 shed by the American black press and later republished around the world\, 
 sparking a multitude of emotions and reactions. This play\, written by Mam
 ie Till-Mobley and David Barr III\, will be directed by Dr. Rodney L. Clar
