FORESight coaches the young person through their transition into “adulthood,” learning to build a new world and nurture the resources critical to this transition. Frequently, the resources further developed are the very ones that have always been there—parents, teachers, friends. The difference? The individual now has the ability to make critical decisions, determine the steps and plan to make it happen…and how to include appropriate resources who may strengthen the success of the ultimate result. It becomes important to know when and how to ask for help and to realize that this is not a weakness, but a strength!

The saying, “Give a person a fish, they eat for a day; teach them how to fish, they eat for a lifetime,” illustrates the difference between tutoring, (which helps a student with academic assignments), and an educational diagnostic and remediation clinic like Yorktown. With a doctor degreed diagnostician and master degreed clinicians, Yorktown specializes in clinical, research-based processes to discover root causes for reading and learning problems. Intervention is prescriptive, based on assessments. “Our twelve-year record of intervention with students in the Tulsa area has taught us that nothing motivates a love of learning like success,” says Dr. Griffin, Yorktown’s Director. For a diagnosis of an academic problem and to learn why and how to fix it, Yorktown is the resource for your child. Enrollment is open and schedules are flexible.
