Week 1 of the Great Home Declutteration
Jan 16, 2011 - 01:47 PM
My first session with my organizing guru will be this afternoon. I’ve got a significant to-do list for before she gets here. I need to straighten up the living room, make sure the kitchen and bathrooms are presentable, and clear walk space in all of my biggest problem rooms (i.e. bedrooms). Goodness! Getting ready to get organized is hard work!I hoped to have taken down our re-useable Christmas tree and decorations before she came, but I don’t think that’ll make the final checklist. In the last week of 2010, I thought that certainly by the end of the first week in 2011, I’d have that tree stored away. But herein lies the reason why I need help. I just haven’t gotten around to taking down and putting holiday stuff away; as well as some other stuff. From months ago. On the side of my bed. (But we’re not going there… just see my previous post for the lurid tale.)
Well, fellow travelers… I'd post some “before” pictures—but I’m too embarrassed. Maybe later.
***Post-organizing Update***
Check out this clean floor space! If you do not know why this is cause for celebration, consider yourself way more organized than me. In short, my bed-side book, magazine, and paper nightmare is *POOF!* gone! I've still got a little work to do on it, but it is better by far from it what it was.
And one week later... it's still looking good. (1/16/11)
