I'm a Model...Well, Almost!
Over the past couple of months I've had some opportunities to do things I never get to do. It's been really fun to branch out into the world of Fashion and Style (just a bit) and get to feel special. I shared about my recent styling adventure with Shannon Schroeder and my TV hosting debut which was such an adventure!
I've also gotten the opportunity to be a model! Recently, my good friend Dawn Westmoreland (who did my hair and makeup for my wedding) contacted me and asked if I'd be interested in modeling in my wedding dress for her portfolio. She and Jessica Chang have teamed up to create Couture by JJC, which is high fashion bridal photography. They specialize in creating truly unique images that look like they belong on the pages of Vogue and InStyle. It's amazing!
How could I say no to getting to wear my wedding dress again and playing dress up? It turned out to be such a fun experience. While Dawn worked on my look, Jessica talked to me about her vision for my shoot. She warned me that she might ask me to pose in uncomfortable positions, but assured me that the final images would be beautiful. I sipped on wine and got pampered and felt beautiful long before I ever saw a single picture!
Here are the behind the scenes of my high fashion bridal shoot for Couture by JJC.
Before shot.
After makeup, there was a LOT of teasing of my hair.
Then, Dawn smoothed it into a gorgeous, bouffant up-do.
The back was braided and twisted beautifully.
See, uncomfortable shot. That rock HURT! But the finished shot was outstanding!
There's Jessica getting a shot of me in front of an old rundown barn in Broken Arrow. With every shot, she was great about coaching me on how to stand, where to put my hands, how to arch my back (or suck in my gut) so that the photo would be perfect.
The whole photo shoot had a really cool feel with me being uber glamorous and fancy against such a rustic backdrop. And the sunset was magic!
