Bouncing Around At Bouncy Barn
Does anyone else struggle to find ACTIVE activities for your kids during the cold winter months? Granted, we have been really spoiled with a mild winter this year, considering most of last year's winter was a blizzard, but it's still hard for me to get out and watch my kids play at the park when my fingers are numb! If your littles start crawling the walls of your home when they're cooped up for too long like mine do, you might need another option in your arsenal of toddler energy busters!
A couple of years ago, we were invited to a birthday party at a place called Bouncy Barn, which was then located at 51st and County Line. Recently, as I drove by the shopping center at 81st and Elm (Houston and Elm) in Broken arrow, I noticed they'd moved just down the street from me! I remembered my little guys having a blast and quickly made a mental note to stop in and find out details asap!
Open Play is Monday-Friday from 9:30-4:00, and Saturdays from 9:30-7:00. Children from ages 1-6 can play as long as they like! Admission for children under 2 is $5.50, and all others are $6.50. There are monthly play passes, 10 visit, and 5 visit play passes available also.
I was really impressed with how clean and open the facility was. They have a great concession stand and seating area too!
The little bees were thrilled. Since all the toys are air filled, it's safe for them to really go crazy!
I got to sit and be still, and even get a hot mocha to sip on! When I realized how well my kids were playing independently, and didn't need much help from me, I was a little bummed I hadn't brought a book or knitting with me, but I was perfectly happy to rest and watch my little bees enjoy themselves!
Don't you love how brave kids are in making friends? My boys seem to make new friends wherever we go. I got them some snacks and they sat and laughed and visited with their new friends before running off to expend some more energy with them! They insisted on saying good bye to them before we left, and even said, "See you next time, okay?!" So cute!
Bouncy Barn is a great "go-to" indoor play option when it's too cold for the park, or when you just want your kids a little more contained. I know I'm not the only parent who's had that five second panic attack at the park when you're afraid you've lost your kid in the trees! I love having places like this, or like the play area at the mall that don't require pre-planning, that you can just hop in the car and drive to when you realize your kids desperately need activity.
This is my official new play date spot to meet my mommy friends for coffee and chatting, and my kids have been begging to go back since our last visit!
See you around town!
