TNA Xplosion Live

Last Thursday was a heck of an evening out for yours truly. After experiencing the debut of the 2013 Oktoberfest Masskrug at the Gruppe Toast, I met up with my husband and kiddos at the Cox Business Center for the TNA Impact Professional Wrestling LIVE show for Spike Televeision. I know what you're thinking and no, I'm not particularly a huge fan of professional wrestling, but when someone is willing to give your family six FREE ringside tickets to just about any event, you smile and say, "Thank you!"  Although I don't regularly watch professional wrestling, or really any sports for that matter, I do have fond memories of snuggling up with my Papa as a child while he watched the likes of Hulk Hogan and Ric Flair. I am fascinated by things I...

Gruppe Toast at Fassler Hall

You know what time it is don't you? Well, here in Tulsa, it's about time to break out those lederhosen, fill up your beer stein and start doing the chicken dance. In other words, it's Oktoberfest time, Tulsa! Last Thursday, the folks at Tulsa Oktoberfest held a Gruppe Toast at Fassler Hall to introduce the brand new commemorative Oktoberfest Masskrug (mug in layman's terms). There was a bit of a hubub around town about RiverParks nixing the infamous pitchers, but the Oktoberfest crew has come back with something pretty cool. Apparently we were one of the only Oktoberfests around that didn't have a commemorative stein! Now we do, and I promise I'll show you in a minute.  But first, you have to experience some amazing lederhosen and hats....

Our Fair Adventure

I don't usually do two posts back-to-back about the same subject, but I also don't usually write about events before they happen. It's way more fun to write about them after the fact so I can share pictures with you and share how fun it was! So, I'm bending my own little rule and I'm writing a second blog post about the Tulsa State Fair. Last year, the littles and I went on a weeknight and were a little limited on what we could do because we just didn't have all that much time. This year, though, we went much earlier in the day on a weekend and did oh so much more! Since we were there to film for Tulsa Feed, I had the privilege of getting in with a Press Pass and coming in through the back door so to speak. The first thing we saw were some beautiful...

Planning Ahead to Save Money at the Fair

Good Monday morning everyone! Just a quick post here to remind you that NOW is the time to plan your trip to the Tulsa State Fair, which kicks off this Thursday! Last year I wrote a post after the fact about money saving tips, but this year I wanted to give you a heads up so you don't walk away from the festivities with empty pockets to accompany your funnel cake induced hangover! Plan Ahead First, go to the Plan Your Day link to choose the day you want to attend and you can check off all the events you want to attend that occur on that day! This will help you know what shows you need to purchase tickets in advance for, and which ones are free with the price of admission.    Finding Food Next, take a look at the Food Finder. I know as well as...

Will Detour for Wine

You have to keep your eyes and ears open, kids. Otherwise you may miss some sweet opportunities for adventure. A few weeks ago, I was driving home from Ketchum, OK after a postpartum visit with a doula client of mine. When I got into my car after leaving her house, there were two messages on my phone cancelling my other afternoon appointments. As I drove along, wondering how I'd fill the rest of my day, this bright yellow sign caught my eye in the town of Adair: I took one look at the time and decided I had plenty of it. I do love detours, especially if they include wine! I drove up to find a lovely little house, and a lovely vineyard.    I walked in to a cute little gift shop and noticed there was also a bar with loads of wine. ...
