Gas prices got you down? No problem! Tulsa Transit is back this summer with their Passport to Fun adventure. Just jump on the bus on special Passport to Fun days and take your kids to cool places – Gilcrease, Philbrook & and the Tulsa Historical Society; Big Splash Water Park; and RiverWalk and the Oklahoma Aquarium. Not only will you get great discounts at your destinations, the first 100 kids boarding the bus with their Passport to Fun will receive a free EZ Rider Day Pass and a free Travel Fun Pack, loaded with money-saving coupons at some of your family favorites.
How does it work?
First, find the Passport to Fun in this issue and cut it out. You’ll see spaces for three dates where the bus driver will stamp the passport. Kids who ride all three days and send in their passports at the end of the summer are eligible for prize drawings.
On Saturday, June 14, take the special museum route. Park and ride from Boston Ave. Methodist Church, 1301 S. Boston to Gilcrease or Philbrook and the Tulsa Historical Society. You can go either way, and even visit all three in one day! Buses will depart on the hour between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. for Gilcrease and at 36 minutes past the hour beginning at 10:36 for Philbrook and Tulsa Historical Society. Route 920 Museum runs the 2nd Saturday of each month only.
For a splashing good time, catch Route 221 on 21st Street to take you to Big Splash at 21st & Yale. Or go to the Denver Ave. Station, Bay 6 downtown (3rd & Denver) or Memorial Midtown Station, Bay 5 (33rd, just west of Memorial). Best of all, Big Splash admission for EZ Riders is just $5 all summer long. Radio Disney will also be there. The party begins at 10 a.m., so plan on spending the day.
In August, spend a day cooling off inside at the Oklahoma Aquarium. On Saturday, Aug. 16, catch the 112 Lewis Route to the aquarium and get $2.00 off admission for up to 4 people with your EZ Rider fare card. Plus, for each paying adult, one child can get in free.
Where do you get a pass?
You can get your adult EZ Rider Day Pass on the bus (ask the driver). It’s only $3 and gets you unlimited rides. Kids 12 and under can ride free when they ride with you. They’ll get a free EZ Rider Day Pass with their Passport (in this issue) when they board the bus.
Kids love to ride the bus, and it’s extra fun when they get to go somewhere special. Let someone else do the driving, while you relax with your kids and see a few of the coolest places in the Tulsa area! It’s like a mini-vacation – right here in town.
