Splash, Splash, Splash Park!!!

Jun 2, 2011 - 12:52 PM
When I"m not in front of my computer, chances are I'm at a park, holding (aka: grasping tightly) an 18-month-old's hand, and looking like a bag lady. Between the diaper bag, camera bag and purse, I'm prepared for everything. Here lately though, I haven't had time to get the camera out. Toddlers are quick and seem to have a magnetism to danger. One moment taken to get the camera out is a moment that could end in disaster. Question: is climbing a phase or is this going to be an on-going thing? (I think I know the answer).
Anyways, I'm saying all this because I don't have a photo of the Riverparks Splash Park we've been going to pretty much everyday. If you haven't been there, GO! It's so fun and the age range is 6 months to infinity. As soon as your kid is able to sit up, it's definitely a must-do.
While cruising the web for a photo, I came across a blog post from Tasha of TashaDoesTulsa.com and, as usual, she did an amazing job of documenting what all the splash park has to offer. Here it is in "A Tulsa Kid's Splash Pad How-To."
I've only been to the one at 41st & Riverside, but I'm sure it's pretty universal...water=fun.
The fact that this is all public makes me feel even better about being there. Isn't it cool that our city provides this amazing stuff for us to do? I know we pay taxes, but still, it's a feel good thing and I like it. Even those people who walk out of the tree line from their little campsites on the rivers edge are pretty friendly.
Tulsa is such a cool city and I'm so happy I live here!
